Bessie Lee Kearse

Bessie Lee Kearse departed this life Thursday, December 10, 2009 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Bessie was born, December 13, 1938 in Miley, SC to the late Eva Mae (Golden) and Thomas Cook, Sr.

The wake services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2009 from the Henderson Funeral Home, 52 Hancock Street, Springfield, MA.6pm- 9pm.

Wake and Funeral will also be held at The House of David, 747-749 Hendrix Street in Brooklyn NY 11207, Tuesday, December 15, 2009 from 4-7 PM. with funeral services on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 10:00am.

Burial will be Rosehill Cemetery, Linden New Jersey. Henderson Funeral Home in charge of local services, and Robeson and Brown Funeral Home in charge of arrangements in Brooklyn, NY.

Bessie leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Carlisle Kearse, one son Floyd Kearse of NY, five daughters, Sharon Williams, NY, Darcel Aikhoje (Monday), MA, Leslie Smith (John Jr. ) Springfield, Samantha Ince, (Jeremy) Spfld, Silena Kearse, Spfld., one Brother, Thomas Cook, Jr. ( Patricia ) NY, two sisters Vanessa Shaw, NY, and Patsy Maxwell of NY twenty grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her son Larry Cook

Bessie was a loving wife and a fabulous person to know. She loved her family and was quite outspoken. If Bessie had something on her mind, she’d let you know. A God fearing woman, she loved the Lord and serving the church. Bessie was a member of The Spring of Hope Church of God in Christ in Springfield, MA, where she served on The Mothers Board. While living in New York Bessie was a member of The House of David. Bessie’s passions were serving on the Usher Board, singing in the Gospel Chorus and working in the Church Kitchen.
