Albert Eugene Savage, 86, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, February 25, 2013. He was born in Marion, AR to the late Pank Lee and Adlena Savage. Albert served in the Navy and was a retired employee of Milton Bradley Corp (Hasbro) where he was employed for over 26 years. Albert was a long time member at Christian Life Center where he served faithfully under the leadership of Pastor Jack Richards.
Albert was affectionately known to some as Dad, to others as Papa, to many in his family as Uncle Little Boy, to his brothers and sisters in the Lord as Bro Savage. After retirement he remained busy working on upholstering furniture, serving the Lord by cleaning the church and attending the various Royal Ranger functions, helping to train the youth. He had a special love for the Royal Rangers ministry at CLC. He joyfully attended many Royal Ranger camping trips and he proudly wore the uniform. The Word of God was his daily bread or his “spiritual food” as he would say. He could often be found sitting at the kitchen table reading the Word and talking to whomever was present about Jesus and His goodness. He would often admonish others to “trust in the Lord”. His favorite greeting was “Praise the Lord”.
Albert was the husband of the late Rebecca M. Savage or “honeybun” as he called her. He was also preceded in death by his sons Albert Eugene Savage Jr., Kenneth Griffin, Enoch Griffin and his son-in-law Douglas Williams as well as 6 sisters, Lillie Bell Savage, Willie B. Flex, Leonia Price, Josephine Barnett, Adlena House and Albertene Barrett and 4 brothers, Robert Lee Savage, Roosevelt Savage, Birdell Savage and Rev Roy Savage. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughters, Donna (Willie) Templeton of Miamisburg, OH, Wilda (Enoch) Griffin, Lillian (Douglas) Williams and spiritual daughter June McCloud-Brown all of Springfield, MA, his sister Pinkie Anderson of Chicago, IL; three sister-in-laws Julia Paschal and Adeline Flowers of SC, and Janie (Dave) Kelley of NJ. Eight grandchildren Willie (Ariana) Templeton III, Isaiah Templeton, Michael (Nicole) Williams, Fred (Camille) Griffin, Joseph (Katrina) Griffin, Daryl Griffin, Chris Griffin and one granddaughter Shakenna Williams, 7 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, spiritual sons, daughters and friends. Albert will be missed but we have so many fond memories. We will remember his love and zeal for the Lord, his faithfulness in service, his never ending desire for the Word. We will remember his contagious laughter and quick wit he often displayed. And lastly we will remember the love that he had for his family, his friends, the church and the Lord.

Burial will take place at Hill Crest Cemetery in Springfield, MA. Repast will be held at Christian Life Center. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Christian Life Center / Royal Rangers.
