Beryl K. Brown

Beryl Brown, 66, passed peacefully on February 19, 2013 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She was born in Jamaica and attended local schools. In 1986 she migrated to the United States to join her husband.

Mrs. Brown was employed as a Home Health Aide in the Springfield area for several years, and cared for many senior citizens. She was dearly loved by her clients. Her most recent place of employment was Redstone Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in East Longmeadow where she worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aide.

Beryl was a faithful member of True Vine Pentecostal Church, and gave of her services throughout the years. A Christian with a high level of commitment, she was always praising her Savior. She was an active member of the Elder Choir.

Mama, Mama Brown, Miss Keitha or Sister Brown as she was affectionately called, took care of everyone. Over the years her faith remained steadfast despite the challenges she faced. Here are a few words that best describe Mama Brown: hard working, vibrant, a true friend, a child of God, compassionate, courageous and kind.

Beryl was a great cook - a task she enjoyed immensely. She also enjoyed shopping for family and friends.

Beryl loved to be around her family, especially her grand children. She was a very loving, thoughtful person and gave of her best to all. Along with her parents, Allan Lamey and Whilelmina Johnson she is predeceased by a daughter Suzette. Beryl is survived by her husband Edward, children Devon, Steve, Delroy, Victor, Balfour, Derrick, Ronald, Conroy, Eric, Christopher, Jennifer and Beverley, numerous grandchildren and great ~ grandchildren, four sisters, Gloria, Dorothy, Patricia, Josephine one brother, Linsford and a host of relatives and friends.

Services of Thanksgiving will be held at True Vine Pentecostal Church 140 Andrew St, Springfield on Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Calling hours will be 9:00am. Thanksgiving service will begin at 10:00am. Burial is at Hill Crest Park Cemetery.
